I. Basic gameplay
There are 8 floors in the Institute of Genetics. Each floor has 12 rooms. Finish the stage in the room to get the reward. Choose difficulty based on your BP before the battle: Easy, Normal, Hard. Higher difficulty means better rewards.
These 3 difficulties will grant 1, 2, 3 DNA Shards accordingly. When the number of your DNA Shards reaches 12, 24 and 36 in the current floor, you will get reward from the Console. On the second day, you can sweep until the most recently cleared stage in hard mode. On every floor of Institute of Genetics, the 3rd, 6th and 9th rooms are boss stages. Defeat them to get lots of rewards from the chest.
In the stage before every boss challenge, you can spend DNA Shards on stats and resistance, which are really helpful for the upcoming challenge. The defeated characters won't be able to join the challenge for rest of the day. After clearing each stage, all hurt characters will be healed by 10% HP. Institute of Genetics is reset at 5 AM. Then players in the ranking list will be rewarded (better rewards for more stages cleared).
II. Line-up plan and DNA console
There are 3 types of enemy formation in Institute of Genetics. 2 types for non-boss stages: 3 in front row + 1 in the center of back row, 1 in the center of front row and 3 in back row. There are usually 6 enemies in boss stages. Boss will be in the center of back row.
It's easy to finish the non-boss stages. Consider deploying Vaccine Man,Subterranean King and other powerful row-attackers in front to handle enemies in front row. If there's one enemy in the front row, you can choose Tank-Top Master and other column attackers to handle enemies in the middle column. You shall choose different strategies for different boss stages. Powerful single attackers like Boros can eliminate the boss first, group attackers like Terrible Tornado shall maximize the damage on all enemies.
As you play longer, the enemy becomes stronger. The best solution is to finish the battle within 2 rounds, so Child Emperor Core and Amai Mask Core is recommended, which can guarantee the damage in the first round.
We suggest you follow this priority order of DNA replacement: Resistance to dangerous buff of the floor > Crit > Crit DMG >DMG Rate > HP recovery. You can play freely as long as you can clear the stages easily.
III. Tricks
1. Sweep works until before the room you last finished in hard mode. For example, If you have previously finished room 306 with 3 stars, then on the second day, you can sweep until room 305. Therefore, if you want to sweep one more room tomorrow, you need to clear one new room with 3 stars. The best option: Begin with current room and choose 2 rooms in easy mode, and then challenge the new room in hard mode. In this way, you will be able to sweep one more room the next day.
2. If you want to try out the hard room which is too difficult for your current line up - such as characters will be defeated, or characters in front row will lose too much HP - you can switch to your backups to deal certain amount of damage. This will make the challenge with your main characters easier with less consumption and less death. You can even deploy 6 low-ATK characters equipped with [Suit] Set to reduce the HP of enemies. Then it gets easier for you to clear the stage.
3. If the hard mode really bothers you, you can directly finish 3 or 4 rooms in easy mode for the rewards.
4. Enemies in the Institute of Genetics are not immune against control effects. You can use characters with [Stun] effects such as Child Emperor, Sky King, Lightning Max, equip them with [Formal] Set and aim at enemies with high ATK or HP recovery. This will make things easier.
